The big Move
Well we have officially moved into our new home. Its been a long tiring weekend, but its is well worth it. We were able to move everything from the condo to our house in one day, even took a break to watch the OSU vs Mich game. Still have a lot of work to go unpacking, but wanted to thank everyone that helped out on Saturday. You guys are awesome!! Also, big thanks to the late night contractor crew (Brian and James) for helping get all the blinds hung up Saturday night.

New closing date this friday 11/20/09
We met with our super last Friday to walk through the house and identify anything we were not satisfied with. Besides a few paint touch ups and another coat of stain on the hand rails everything looks really great. We just got our carpet installed yesterday and its looks awesome. With everything well on track we are looking at possibly closing on our house this Friday 11.20.09. Crazy right! We will be meeting with Steve to go through our final walk through on Wed to go through an orientation and detailed walk through. If all goes as planned we will be moving in this Saturday.. we will keep you posted but right now things are looking pretty good.

Nov 25th.. not that far away.

So a lot has happened around the house since our last blog. The exterior is all complete with bushes and trees now planted. They will be laying sod on Monday.... goodbye dirt. On the inside of the house we have all the dry wall in place which already has a coating of paint. All t he doors and trim are painted through out the house. Monday we are finally going to get our cabinets delivered and installed. We have all the vinyl flooring installed and most of the hard wood in the foyer. Painter is suppose to come sometime this weekend to get another coat of paint on the walls since they have been touched up. You can see the color of the kitchen and master bedroom. We have a light green in the kitchen, which we love and a 2 tone color scheme for the master bath. The tentative closing date for our house is wed Nov 25th. which means we will most likely be moving during thanksgiving weekend. Going to be a busy holiday!!

Steve the super giving it to us straight!
This afternoon we met with our super on the job, Steve to do a walk through of the house before we get to dry wall. Tomorrow we will have the insulation inspected and then drywall will begin. He informed us that he will have a crew here all weekend getting all the dry wall completed so the house is ready Monday or Tuesday for prime coat. Today, they poured the concrete driveway, which looks great. They couldn't finish the apron as the city engineer needs to be present for the pour to make sure it meets all requirements. The siding is all finished and it looks great. They started insulating yesterday and will finish the attics after dry wall is installed. Its cool to see the house coming together.

And the insulation is free!!!
Danielle was able to stop by the house this afternoon and take a few more updated pictures. The house is coming along at a rapid pace. We stopped over tonight and talked with a few of the guys putting in insulation through out the house. They had a lot done and working late to have it all done by Friday. They need to be done by Friday so they can get ready for dry wall. The have the house just about finshed with siding, they have one side to finish. They also have the driveway laid out, just need to add fill stone and then pour it. Below is some new pictures. We will try and take some more of the pictures tomorrow..

Update.. soorry no pictures batteries died
Sorry... its been a while since we last updated the blog, just been busy. Danielle and I just got back from stopping by the house. As we pulled around the corner we saw police lights in front of our house.. yep.. But dont worry it was just a cop giving a teenage punk a ticket.
Last week they poured the garage floor, and basement. roughed in all the plumbing and electrical, installed all the HVAC. Today, they put on the garage door and started siding the house. The siding of the house on the house will be done tomorrow and we are just waiting on a few instepctions so we can start insulating the house with the pink panther and then getting to drywall. Things are progressing nicely.. We are still on track to close by the end of Nov... we should be at drywall by friday. We will try and get some pictures online sometime this week...

Update
Hey everyone!

For those of you who have not met our kids-there are a couple pictures below. Meet the Vilt Family...

I love them so much!
We appreciate you following our blog and we hope you are as excited as we are for this upcoming year! Below are some updated photos of the house. We got word that they are supposed to be framing on Monday! They are moving right along!
Wedding colors are a huge stepping stone that Eddie and I need to get settled out. We are pretty unsure of what we want to see. We do know that my favorite flower-the sunflower-will be included in the bouquet on our special day! Otherwise, we are still unsure of the final colors.
We have decided that we will be having our reception at the new Ohio Union in downtown Columbus! It is a facility that is still in contruction (our house and reception site!) and will be completed in April 2010. We have put a hold on August 28, 2010 but we have not locked the date. Most likely-we will lock in with them in a couple weeks! How exciting!
So as of right now we have- 1. The date 2. The reception hall 3._____so needless to say-we need to get moving! :)

It's official
We met with our superintendent today for Trinity Homes. He was wonderful. He assured us that he was going to be working around the clock on our house in order to get in completed. We drove by the house tonight in hopes the huge bulldozer would be there. It unfortunately was not, but this huge mount of gravel was there. Also our home is all staked out. It gave us a great vision of how our house would be plotted. This process is so exciting!
We also got to meet with the design center today. We picked our exterior and interior options for the house. Our outside will be a brown tan color with dark gray shutters and a red door...I know it doesn't sound like it goes together, but it for sure looked wonderful at the design center.
Below is a picture of the house tonight. It was pretty dark, but you get the drift...
We will keep you posted with pictures all throughout the process.
Love Eddie & D.

Breaking Ground
Eddie and I are building a house in Westerville, Ohio. Our location is very close to Hoover Dam where there are lots of bike paths and wonderful parks! We are looking forward to moving in mid December and will be able to have our first christmas in our new house.

My mom and dad came down to Columbus today and we took some funny pics at our house site...Enjoy!

A fun day of Shopping!
For those who do not know, Edd's brother is getting married on May 15th. Eddie and I are both going to be in the wedding, so yesterday the boys went to look at suits, and the girls went to look at bridesmaids dresses.
Lauren (Mike's fiance) set up an appointment for us girls (Kristen, Lauren and I) at David's Bridal. We had a blast! It was such a fun day of trying on dresses and I believe we found the dress that Lauren liked Kristen and I in. She is going to have the rest of her girls try them on and vote. I absolutely love the dress and-believe it or not-the dress is one that you could re-wear!
After trying on bridesmaids dresses-I had picked two gowns that I wanted to try on for myself. Needless to say-I fell in love with the first one I tried on! I am going to take my mom and sister with me next week and let them see me in it. If anything, I found out the style of dress that I like!
The boys started out at Macy's and due to the Labor Day sale-they have found great suits for only about $20 more than what a tux rental would be...pretty cool and then they get to keep the suit. Very impressive. Once us girls got back from trying on dresses-the boys (Eddie, Cheeks, and Mike) were ansy to get out of Macys due to them being there for 3 hours. The Vilts are power shoppers and don't like to stay in one specific store for more than 10 minutes. (Insert Edd) Vilts get in and get out, thats just what we do.
Overrall, it was a very productive day for the girls and the guys!
Eddie and I are planning on checking out ideas for our center pieces today-so I will keep you posted!

Getting Started!!
Needless to say, this process is very intense and stressful. I'm lucky to have a fiance who wants to help and be a part of the wedding planning. I do not know what I would do if Edd was not here helping make decisions!
We checked out our first venue option tonight. It was Creekside in Gahanna, Ohio. They have a very nice location overlooking a river...the only negative was we thought the space was too narrow and too enclosed. I would like a space that is very wide open and has high ceilings.
We are putting all options in a cool spreadsheet in order to figure out financials. (Thanks Mike!) If anyone knows the Vilt brothers-they know they are born to be planners!
I have my first appointment to try on dresses with my mom and sister in September! I'm so excited to see what Pat Catan has to offer! There are a lot of places in Columbus that I would like to try as well-so the dress hunt begins!
We have tentatively decided for September 18th-but that solely depends on our venue and whether or not they have that date available. We will definitely keep everyone posted!
A couple of our friends gave us some books to read about weddings. There is a groom's book that Eddie has actually started reading tonight. :) too funny!
Everyone was very shocked when I stated I had my wedding book all put together already. Just to clarify-I have the basics in there. It is not an extensive book yet. Mostly all the information that I gathered from the bridal show on Sunday.
Also-I have focused my efforts on Bridal Bootcamp for myself. I have 12 months and 2 weeks...the countdown to chiseled arms. :)
That's it for now! Have a great week everyone!

Welcome to our blog!
We are so excited to announce that we are engaged! Yes-everyone has said "It's about time" so I know what you are thinking, however, it was definitely worth the wait! Below is the crazy photo we took after we got engaged. The wind completely took the umbrella that we were holding which made us both crack up laughing-so not the best pic, but funny! Below is the picture of the ring-also, not the best picture. You will have to see it in person. Edd and Lenny the Jeweler designed the ring together which I thought was so special!

The ProposalEdd and I were vacationing with my family in Traverse City, MI when he popped the big question. We had went to dinner for our date night and then walked out on a pier next to the marina. It had been very rainy that day and gross out, but just as we walked out to the pier it had stopped raining. We spotted a rainbow and I proceeded to take a picture of it. When I turned around to Edd, he was down on one knee...it was so romantic!
I was very surprised seeing as how we just signed on a house before we had left to vacation! It was an amazing vacation and I will never forget how wonderful the proposal was!
Our first bridal show was today! I was so overwhelmed-I wanted to cry the whole way through! Everyone says it gets better and to not stress out-but I'm stressing!
Eddie and I are thinking sometime September 2010...we will keep you posted.
As of our family vacation-below are some pictures from our trip! Enjoy!
